SLANCH!
Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what SLANCH! needs to work, we never sell your data, and your check-ins and prices are shown as totals, not as you.

Who's responsible
SLANCH! decides how your information is used. Company and contact details for privacy requests are placeholders during our private test and will be published here before public launch.
What we hold
- Account: your email or sign-in provider, display name, photo, and whether you live here or are visiting.
- Your city: the city you choose, and its rough coordinates, so we can show pubs near you.
- What you contribute: verdicts, Golden Pints, reviews, photos, pub facts, pint prices, check-ins and crawls.
- Preferences: the kinds of night you said you like.
- Technical: basic request logs needed to run and secure the service.
We don't run advertising trackers and we don't build profiles of you for anyone else.
Location
Precise location is only used if you tap to share it, and only to work out which city you're in and what's nearby. We don't store a history of where you've been. You can turn it off in your browser at any time and pick a city by hand instead.
What's public
Your display name, photo, verdicts, reviews, photos, crawls and Golden Pints are public. Pint prices, pub facts and check-ins are shown only as totals and averages — your individual entries aren't shown to other people.
Why we're allowed to
- To provide the service you asked for (your account, your contributions, your subscription).
- Our legitimate interest in keeping SLANCH! safe, honest and working.
- Your consent, for optional things like loading Google Maps or sharing precise location.
Who else sees it
- Our hosting and database provider, which stores the app's data on our behalf.
- Google, when maps or pub information and photos load — and only after you've agreed to maps.
- Our payment provider, for venue subscriptions. We never see full card details.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK and EU. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your profile and your personal contributions; anonymous totals that others' rankings depend on may remain. Logs are kept for a short period for security.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Most of this you can do yourself from your profile. If you're in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection regulator — in the UK that's the ICO.
Children
SLANCH! isn't for under-13s. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13 we'll delete it.
Security
Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, data is encrypted in transit, and access rules mean people can only read what they're allowed to. No service can promise perfect security.
